Well, I recently bought x220:


Now just waiting for missing keycaps, but had also missing ram, hdd with assembly, battery, power supply, and oh, broken power connector. But bought for less than $150, with i7-2520m & 3G, so price was good. Got it complete under $270 equivalent, with 8gb ram, 9cell battery and 128G SSD.

The whole fun is that I previously used w700... and still have it. And x220 is literally half of w700 size. A picture is worth thousand words:

I had a thought about gluing x220 to w700, and using is as poor man's w700DS with software like SpaceDesk

Oh, and older (unrelated) picture I did some time ago, featuring T400, 600e and IIRC 390

Great photos! It is fun to compare ThinkPads to the W700/1, especially since some models are surprisingly thick as a W700.

Yep, T400 is history now, but currently I can compare x220, R400, T61 15.4" and W700. It's funny when you realize that each of them is bigger (in depth) exactly by size of extended battery.

When I bought W700, I've written article about it, with photos comparing it to T400 and 600, article (in Polish) and photos can be found there (hope it's not against forum rules)
