The bookshelf (with PIC)
The bookshelf (with PIC)
I was exited by "Thinkpad cabinet" by Tasurinchi.
Tooday i have googled for photos of TP 600 back side and find this topic.
And it's time for my collection.
What we store on bookshelves? Yes book...
and notebooks;)
And this is my bookshelf (click for Full Size)
You can guess (as in other topics) some ThinkPads on this shelf but it will be very hard, because some of them are hiding in sleeve bags and other are very similar from this point of view.
I can help with some hints:
Thinkpads are stored in chronological order from right to left.
PowerBricks are placed on top of the models that can be used for them.
There are only letter models (T,W,X) and no digital models (600, 7xx, 5xx). There is no 16:9 models at all.
The leftmost notebook (in sleeve) is not ThinkPad - this is TiBook as opposed for TiPad hiding in the middle.
On the upper shelf there are some HDDs and 2 very strange ThinkPads - S30 to the left and X301 to the right.
Down to the shelf there are 2 thinkpad messanger bags - one is older with ThinkPadStuff and other with EliteBook.
PS
All of them in working condition and most are maxed out. But the time have left marks on black skin ;(

Re: The bookshelf (with PIC)
Impressive collection you have there!
I would suggest wrapping them in clear plastic to defend against dust particles
If I will ever visit Moscow (you see, I am from Georgia currently living in USA but my aunt works in Sankt-Pitersburg Hermitage), I would REALLY love to see them in person!

Re: The bookshelf (with PIC)
It's a joy to see pictures such as this, thank you! If we could know the models, please?
Seeing a TP collection such as this makes me happy. I will need to photograph mine and share some more joy!

20-s:
T20 13" with 900MHz originally have saved from trash bin
T23 14" with sxga+ (interesting - they are the same size)
30-s:
T30 (with 2GHz cpu from A31p and better HSF)
A31p (with 2.4GHz cpu from my first notebook - Samsung P25)
X32 (with lid from X31)
40-s:
T43p with T43's mainboard (initially taken for T50)
X41 tablet in original tablet sleeve case
60-s:
T60 14"
T60 15" (non frankenPad)
Z61t(itanium) - it is actually from 60-s era
X60 (it should be placed right of the Z61t)
61-s:
T61 14" 4:3 (as a spare for FrankenPad mainboard;)
X61 tablet docked
X61 (waiting for X62 mainboard)
100-s:
W500 in sleeve
X200
110-s:
T410 in sleeve
T410s - waiting for replacement LCD:( and M560+optimus mainboard
X201 with IPS (AFFS from tablet) LCD
X201 tablet in original tablet sleeve case
non thinkpad: TiBook (PowerBook G4 with 1GHz)
Above them all is W700 with QX9300. (it should be placed above W500 but it is unstable position).
BTW - X20x tablet sleeve case is the worst sleeve case i have. The only good thing is the handle. The best (IMHO) is X6x tablet sleeve - i have one but on photo X61t is docked so no sleeve here.
Good things:
T400 and W701 are going to me.
Bad things... i couldn't stay in borders (no 16:9 and no letterless models) and have got 560X and 600E. now they are living above W500
And i was excited by 560x - small 12" portable ThinkPad with better keyboard than X6x and fanless design. If i can replace HDD with CF to IDE adapter i think i can make Completely Silent ThinkPad.
Bad thing that 560x and 600e have dead batteries and there is no 560-s batteries on ebay. I'll try to recell them myself in near future.
Sure - you're should.Dos3.1 wrote:I will need to photograph mine and share some more joy!

Very nice collection!
I have one question though, which panel does your X201 have? I though there were no IPS models for this era. Or is it an AFFS one?

They are not on the shelf.Temetka wrote: So, which Thinkpad is your primary machine?
T601 FrankenPad in suitcase - it is main dalydriver.
And X61 with IPS (AFFS from X61 tablet) in dock on table (right now i'm typing this post in). It is small enough to free more space on workplace to see schematics with the left eye and solder something with the right hand
I have added comment in initial post. Yes it is easy mod (FrankenPad?): AFFS LCD from X200 tablet in X200 lid ontop of X201.Tasurinchi wrote:I have one question though, which panel does your X201 have?
