T520 Has New Keys!

Fresh from Wuppertal, Nordrhein-Westfalen. It has firm positive keystrokes with an audible click. It will take a week or so to get used to this and I should be good to go on it. The biggest hurdle right now is getting used to the shorter left shift key. I short stroke the shift key and hit the >|< key more often than not.
Me likey! And no more key stickers.

Very nice! I am a huge fan of the international large "enter" keys. I managed to pickup a used UK English keyboard from a friend over there about a year ago, and I always enjoy typing on it on the old T60.

The problem is that all the large Enter keyboards always seem to correlate with the shrunken Left Shift, and I have no idea how anyone can type on one of these for more than an hour and not go postal.
Really, who designed this idiocy? You need room for one extra key? Take it from the already oversized Right Shift and don't make people contort to type capital letters!
Such layouts do exist, BTW, but they are not standard and are thus very rarely seen.

Yes I think:
(1) Shrink the right shift key
(2) Move the
|\ key next to the left shift key, over to the other side after the
? / key
(3) Increase the size of the left shift key
(4) Keep the Enter key large as it is on the English (UK) keyboards

If you grow up with the "small" left-shift (as on UK/IE English layout) you don't know any different.
I don't like the US keyboard because the Enter-key is too small and the backslash \ sits above that.
As a former programmer, I want my \ left of the Z, where it belongs!

+1 this ^
Every time I get a US/Canadian Keyboard I keep missing the Enter key, typing long texts becomes a headache for a couple of days
The left Shift Key doesn't bother me much, my left pinky is small enough

I would like to see some extra colours used like the grey top 2 rows on some older models. I don't mind the brighter blue enter key ( although it looks lonely) and I think it breaks up the blackness if that makes sense.
I think when Lenovo removed the red and blue pin stripes off the T60/61 , X60/61 and T400 models it made them look more bland.
My 2 cents

When I got my T500 I added those red stripes back to the buttons.

Hello,
This keyboard is gorgeous !
The disposition of the keys is similar on our AZERTY (french) keyboards. I loooove the (big) blue Enter key (of course big blue, hey, it's an IBM after all !

), and, as said earlier, I think it breaks the blackness of the laptop. I miss the old grey keys we saw on the ancient models like the T4x, I have always love that, it felt somewhat classy to me. In terms of confort, I was never annoyed with the Shift keys, but I think after more than twenty years using the same type of keyboard, there are things that don't matter anymore.
Finally, it's kind of like the position of the Fn key. Left of the Ctrl one, or right ?
W.

After five days it is getting easier to remember which keys are where. A few more days to develop finger memory and I'll have this licked. I have to remember to use the small left shift key when using the apostrophe.
It's getting easier every day.
