Franken-Apple IIe
I got a FRUIT!! OH NO!
In true Thinkpad style, I replaced the display with a UXGA IPS display! (and yes, the CRT works too.)

Thinkpad4by3's Law of the Universe.
The efficiency of two screens equally sized with equal numbers if pixels are equal. The time spent by a 4:3 user complaining about 16:9 is proportional to the inefficiency working with a 16:9 display, therefore the amount of useful work extracted is equal.

I can tell this is 1:1 pixel mode done badly. Should had upconverted to full size of LCD.

No its not. The CRT displays a significant border too on the top and bottom and the image is slightly squished. The Apple IIe displays alot of overscan which is playing games with the Dell's controllerboard.thinkpadcollection wrote: ↑Tue Dec 19, 2017 5:51 pmI can tell this is 1:1 pixel mode done badly. I saved one of these from the trash at a school a couple months ago. Sold it off to someone who'd appreciate it more than I ever could. Amazing how simple these things are, from a hardware architecture standpoint.

Re: Franken-Apple IIe
Years ago when I was at college, one night someone told me to look at computer stuff that is left out in hallway (means free for taking), and spied complete apple IIe, yes really! Since knew a friend who dearly missed his so I snatched it up and easy fix inside PSU with one capacitor. Now a really appreciated friend with his fun computer.
