My IBM Thinkpad Wallpaper Creation (Thank me Later)
Windowblinds Skin
I am dreaming about a Thinkpad skin for windowblinds. I have been dreaming for many months now, perhaps an year. But perhaps I'll wait for the T60 to arrive....or what better way to do it, than start it on the current T30 and then continue it on the T60, like father and son, so to speak, hehe.
Yes, a fast, dark skin, spatial but serious, must be done, in all honour to the rigour of the Thikpad Knights.

Re: Windowblinds Skin
I have been working on something similar; still getting used to the editor though. It is about to look somethng like the BlackJapan Theme for Firefox.csioucs wrote:I am dreaming about a Thinkpad skin for windowblinds. I have been dreaming for many months now, perhaps an year. Guys,
I stumbled on this thread and am in complete awe!
Awesome wallpaper.
I am particularly interested in the security boot screen
(Bios Boot Logo with owner/system stats) posted by Kenn
on page 1.
I own a T60. How do I replace my current security password
screen with the one I mentioned?
Thanks for the help.

You have to change a setting in the registry for that. You can also change the screensaver at login to the nala IBM map as well.NJRonbo wrote:Guys,

Let me see if I can document exactly what I did on my T43; it should be the same for a T60 since they both run Windows XP.
See; http://support.microsoft.com/default.as ... -us;314493
And
See; http://support.microsoft.com/kb/q291559/
Those are what I went from, then I learned as I went along further.
Also, make sure you have a good backup of the Resgistry. Changing things in the Registry is like navigating a mine field with a Model 5000 "Jackhammer" Pogo Stick. It isn't that bad if you know what you are doing since, after getting past the hex numbers, you pretty much reach a key/field area where a normal human can make sense of it. For example, if you end up in an area called "RPC Management" or another system essential area, you know you are in the wrong place.

I assume you are using the ThinkPad or ThinkCenter active desktop from the Russian site? If that is the case, have you gotten the mail section of the wallpaper to work?Kyocera wrote: the black world map is OK, I still like the active desktop themes I got from another thread, totally awesome and funnctional.
Everything works on mine except the mail (wireless, battery, hard drive space).

The Active Themes can be found at http://www.mocom.ru/Wallpapers/ibm.htm
Scroll down to the bottom and look for themes under the active wallpapers.

Sorry; I thought the black IBM map was what was being asked for.
Just one thing to note about the Active theme, if you have a default mailer set, like Thunderbird, it will keep trying to bring that mailer up.
Other than that, the Active theme is quite nice.

Windowblinds Thinkpad Theme
Yes, I have started working on a Thinkpad Windowblinds theme.
All white/gray on black backgrounds, especailly the green Start Button
in Windows XP was disturbing me, which went all black with a trackpoint.
... BUT this hobbyist-project got stalled half way through because of work.
The whole thing turned out to be a lot more work than estimated before.
Not very helpful, I know, but I might find enough spare time to
pick it up again during this year...
so long,

Hmmm, looking at that some more, I wonder; is that background from Perfect Blue? What a coincidence.Jiro wrote:Here you guys go, I basically just slapped on the IBM logo on her arm lol... enjoy.

Everybody, how are you?
As a freshman here, I'm also glad to share this one with you.
Wish you enjoy it.
