i will adjust the kerning a bit more, but otherwise that's the image.
it will have the following placement:
comments? how do you feel about putting a permanent sticker on your thinkpad?

If I was to put a sticker/decal on my Thinkpads, it would use a sticker type that isn't permanent and doesn't leave behind resiude if removed.
Although that does look good.

larz I hope you don't mind. I posted the images on TR42 asking for suggestions and I got this reply:

delicious (a free font) could maybe fit (a little bit less obvious) or PMN caecilia (not a free font) which is a humanistic slab-serif with a lot of character, kinda feminine but not as strong as the typeface he chose, esp. in the stronger weights (55 upwards, the bold weight (75) is lovely).
in the end its his laptop and he likes it like that and wants it like that, who cares… but i'd chose a different typeface (and color) for it, maybe a color fitting one of the four colors of the IBM-thinkpad-mark (just white?).
another good reason to chose a font with less delicate curves than the one he chose is because in this size, plotters will maybe not be able to make such seemless curves all around. i found little bumps in some curves in a ~600pt example set in helvetica neue.

I am generally not a fan of most stickers on laptops (perhaps because 99% of the stickers on laptops I have seen were pretty badly done and in poor taste. I wouldn't, however, mind putting either a rad symobl or a biohazard symbol on my Thinkpad in an out of the way place that will show up if you look close enough (don't tell the EH&S people, they might actually *require* it knowing their penchant for crazy ideas)....

Shameful

Shameful, all of you. Stickers and thinkpads dont mix. You want to sticker up your laptop, go buy a dell or hp.

You know, there was a time, sad I know, when HP actually put out advertisements that showed quite a few "kute" and "hep with it" stickers on their laptops. Apparently, one would have thought that HP had lost their minds; although I think that happened when they spun off the lab equipment division and the Reign of Carly.
I am pretty sure the heat from either the battery, the HDD, or both would have peeled and scorched all the stickers on most dells.
Now the Rad symbol and Biohazard? Done well they actually help safe guard the system...Tell me who is going to pinch a Thinkpad when they see warning signs like that on it. Truth be told, I might need them as I did work with Biohazards and Radiation sources next to my Thinkpad. That would make a lovely conversation piece, don't you think?

what's up with the dell bashing?
as for the biohazard stickers, seems a bit nerdy and cliche to me personally.
my sticker that i had planned is for style and customization (and branding?)

Generally, it isn't called bashing when they show every sign of deserving such a reputation and no signs of changing.
lucas wrote:

Possibly, but then again, it does have an actual use as I have used my Thinkpad (quite well as a matter of fact) in such environments; then again, that is a little informative sticker about what may be waiting on the surface of the Thinkpad and what we are talking about is a rather large sticker that is a name. In any case, they are still stickers...So it almost amounts to the same thing I guess, except for a difference of functionality in certain situations.

some dell laptops are pretty decent
and the fact is that your thinkpad isn't actually biohazardous itself

A very small amount and/or really expensive, probably; but none of the 5 I have had or the 15 I have had, unfortuanately, had to try and fix. I can say that the best part about those was the fact that I currently have no need for a skin graft due to burns and/or explosions from them.

Well, things can pick up contamination when you work in labs and deal with actual (some engineered) pathogen nasties on a daily/weekly basis. I am pretty sure at least a few microbes have hitched a ride on my T43 (but I wash it down with alcohol and disinfectant periodicallly). So a Biohazard symbol might indeed be a good idea.

I have a Dell that is about as old as my IBM, and for kicks and grins I put a fire hazard sticker on it. I have the same problem that the original poster is having, don’t know what to put on. TP 770ED goes every where with me but has a nice home hooked into my truck.
Docking station wired into the sound system. The video output is being fed into the in dash Jensen head unit. The AC3 output is being fed to the Alpine surround processor. My speakers are JL Audio TR650-CSi speakers. The ext cab has the custom fit JL Audio box. The amps are of course JL Audio.
Can anyone think of a decal that can go on my laptop, and still fit the theme in the truck?

i guess you don't want your truck make a part of your thinkpad?

That was my first thought was strap Noma ( for GMC Sonoma) on the back but their are times the ED has the screen open and others when the screen is closed. May just have a small decal on the palm rest with another lerger one on the lid.

As of late, I think that Dells come with a fire hazard sticker out of the box.

I'm sorry, but I think it is hideous. I would never put a sticker on any of my Thinkpads. Just my personal taste though, if you like it go for it. It might also be a nice theft deterrent.
