100% homemade IBM inspired wallpaper [now with POLL]

#1 Post by Torque » Sat Aug 12, 2006 3:58 am

Hello Thinkpad forums.

I would like to make my own contribution to the Thinkpad forums desktop wallpaper-thing here :)

Was down around the industrial harbor the other night, and shot some pictures of the scenery there.
Came across an office building and did a (not so original, I know) skewed shot of the facade,
with the sky reflecting in the dark glass. The picture is taken in Århus, by the way :)

Anyways, came home and started browsing the pics.
Played around with this particular one in Photoshop and desaturated the sky, trying to give it a more cold, corporate look -
and it actually compliments the thinkpad design quite well.

Did the IBM logo by overlaying a JPG from the web and making a smoother vector in Illustrator.

Hope some of you will find this good and use it :)

I can give you the wallpaper in resolutions up to 3000x2000 (which is the limit of the original photography).

I can see how it is IBM "Business" inspired. :)

I met someone who looks a lot like you.
She does the things you do.
But she is an IBM.

Great job. I'll be sure to add the paper into the rotation on my computer.

Has been my background since I got my TP (a month ago) :D . Really like it, clean, simple, professional.

I also cut a piece from the glass, put a white semi-transparant IBM logo on it, made the whole thing a bit lighter and use that as my live messenger background now :D .

Very business like. Looks somewhat like IBM's headquarters building in downtown Chicago.

Noticed Imageshack had put it down, or at least so it seemed here.
