LOL! I agree...but they also add a lot of convinience...that in my book makes them a must!
back on track...
I remember looking at a set of speakers like that, I think they were marketed for the Mac?

@brikey: Why?
As for a dock, it might be handy for some, but for me it's not worth the money, I'll just put in 2 usb cables and the adapter every time.

Yeah I see what youre sayin. But when you have 3 ext disks, a monitor, midi-keyboard+a slew of other peripherals it comes in very very handy.snessiram wrote:@brikey: Why?

Very true. However, if you want to use a large number of external accessories with your laptop (monitor, speakers, keyboard mouse), the dock prevents your desktop from becoming an even-more-ugly-than-the-dock cluster of cables that you constantly have to connect/disconnect when you move your laptop.pianowizard wrote:I **hate** docks because they are ugly and take up space.
Very nice setup, I love your table - the color/finish is really nice. I see that you also upgraded your mouse and sperakers, and added a neat little lamp to your setup

I got one these from buy.com for $17 shipped, and it is the best mouse I have ever used. It is controured just right to fit your right hand perfectly (no fear of carpal tunnel). Instead of the scroll wheel, you have a trackpoint-like stub and you press on it downard to scroll down and vice versa. It is amazingly comfortable to use ont my SXGA+ screen. The scrolling speed and the pressure required to scroll can be controlled just like the trackpoint.
Just copy pasted this post from another thread I made - too lazy!

Good setup.
I don't know why it's me who likes to stuff the table with various devices and cannot work without them.

Satisfied, the dynamic range complies with quite different uses. I never use the remote control, but the additional aux input and headphones jack on the control pod are a nice plus. One con is this classic "shh" background when on power.brikeh wrote:How do you like your speakers?
I don't plan an upgrade for now and don't feel the use to. Maybe in the futur, with a huge office and lofty workspace, for true spatial sound.

Can I simply swap out my T5500 CPU in my 1953CTO T60 with a T5600? Or my T2400 core duo in my 2623D6U T60?
