I still live with my parants. In the summer I will be living with some friends (students) in 1 appartment/house in the centre of amsterdam. Unfortunatly I will have less desk space then.

Is that a 20MM shell casing with the flowers in it?
And that natural wood is beautiful.

I don't now how many mm it is. But it is a real shell casing from WOII. Found it here in holland.

Hey OnnoK123, I saw those pics
before...
Really nice pics & desk!
The thinklight makes me jaleous, the one on the R series is amber and kind of unclear imho... (I can type blind so it doesn't bother me too much) Anyone know if I could easily replace it? (first time I think about it)

Yeah, my R52 is slightly amber compared to my T60, I don't think it takes anything away from the useability of it but it was weird when I first got the R52 because all i had was T series prior.

Thanks for the info! I've owned about two dozen Thinkpads but this R50p that I received yesterday is my first R-series, and it's the first one with a non-white Thinklight! It's so cool!

PW, can you post some pics of the R50p prior to its QXGA facelift? I am really eager to see it!

I was going to do that today at work but was too busy. I wanted to compare its 15.0" UXGA screen with the Dell's 15.4" WUXGA. Hopefully next week.

Hey Onnok123, I´ve a T60 too... and the right corner of the lid got peeled as yours!!! ... with only 6 months of use, excesive care and a lot of traveling on cars and autobuses... I´ve repaired it with a Revell´s email color, a mix of matt black and gray # 78 ... well you have to look at it with a magnifying glass to note the damage. Same thing happened to my earlier T42.... I bought these Thinkpads because they were said sturdy and made for hard work, but this rubber finish is more unestable than the cheaper plastic ones...
Would like to know how many of you have had the same problem... I Think this is an issue Lenovo has to pay more attention... instead of thinking in Special edition models they should be improving their flagship series...

I know what you mean. But I'm still a fan of the rubber finish. Becuase it just looks great. And you wont get scratches etc. Can you make a photo of your repair. Maybe I will do the same thing.

Yes, please do; I have some wear on two of my corners that, while certainly not a major issue, just bug the hell out of me!

Ok fellas... I´ll do a couple of photos of the repaired corner... just wait for´em...

The corners will always peel.. because 99% uses a backpack to carry it in and constant rubbing of the nooks will cause the rubber to wear.
Don't want that? use a booq sleeve or a 2nd skin, so it can't move or grind (even a milimeter).

Sorry to dissapoint you but I have a sleeve just like this one in the nice picture from our Holland friend and the corner peeled! however as I said I got it fixed with Revell paint. Sorry for the promised pictures but I´ve been away from home for a lot of time and have been unable to post them... but believe me the fix worked nicely! (I´ll have to get a patent for it!!!
