If you took one look at either of my desks, you'd reconsider that remark about clean and simple. I discovered that the Speedy Gonzales Pez dispenser that's been collecting dust on my overhead shelf since 2003 is still fully loaded with strawberry flavored Pez. I was going to try one to see if they are still good but then I decided it'd be best to wait another three years.

Anyways, cleanliness aside, I'm very much into the professional look and the equipment itself is very clean. In fact, my ThinkPad 600 looks every bit as good now as it probably did 7 years ago and thanks to the cleaning checmical I used on the lid and wristpad yesterday, the new car smell is embedded into the rubber paint.

Sweet. There's definitely a noticeable difference between the 15" and 14" form factors though....

@Initial D: do you have "just" the thinkpad or also another pc on there?
It looks really nice, clean and professional, which I love. When I went to a computer shop a few months ago, the salesman (wich was a student like me too, it was still vacation then) said something about "I think that ibm's are awfull" on which I replied that I just loved them more than anything. (Salesman was fan of sony, conversation was in dutch)
I really don't understand why people think it's ugly. It's simple, well-buildt, nice color... A lot better than the plastic looking hp/acer/packard bell's.

@Gustavo: Nice set :D

Since I'm getting requests for this wallpaper, here is the info for anyone who wants it:

I made the wallpaper myself, I uploaded it for you guys to download:
http://members.cox.net/azimi3/thinkpad.bmp

Also, the system info that you see in the bottom right corner is from a basic IT tool that is pretty easy to figure out called BGInfo, you can get it here:
http://www.sysinternals.com/Utilities/BgInfo.html

Let me know if you have any problems with the program.

It's "just" the thinkpad :) ... also being a college student on the go, I just dock the thinkpad whenever I get home and then undock it when leaving to go to school. No need for a desktop tower here!

Yes, thanks for posting your wallpaper.

Since it's IBM related, you might want to visit http://www.mocom.ru/Wallpapers/ibm.htm and upload your wallpaper (bottom of page). I would do it for you but not sure if you wanted it published there...

It's pretty much just having a creative bone and then using a program like Adobe Photoshop.

Finally Got My I-Series 1400 up and running

Putting Updates and Drivers onto Windows 98 SE

A closeup of the completed assembly up front.....

Now all I need to do is expand the memory and maybe a modern Lithium Ion battery and I'm readly, all on a laptop that cost me $4.99, lacked half the parts, but yet still worked. I got lucky and found a second 1400 series laptop with a bad mobo for a dollar, but all the parts I needed except the Hard Disk, which is a 40 GB Seagate. This is the most modern I have been with a laptop thus far. I also need to hack the trackpoint and button cables back together, which is in the works ATM.
