I've always considered it ironic that some of the most over the top places I've experienced when it comes to Xmas decorations and celebrations are Japan, Taiwan and Hong Kong.RCube wrote:hahaha thanx guys! you guys are too funny.![]()

When we were in China several years ago at Xmas time we could easily see that it was fast becoming a place that would rival all three of the preceding. A promenade through one of the new malls in Beijing, Xian, Chongking, Shanghai, etc. could have just as easily been NY, Paris, Berlin or London.
The mind reels at the thought of the lines for the Boxing Day Sale at the soon to be opened Harrods Beijing!

Here are a couple shots of the homemade "ergo" desk I have in the far corner of the basement. It's not extraorinarily High tech but it is comfortable to set at for hours. The view sucks though.

It was a good use for an old kitchen cabinet.
Now if I could just get a nice banner size shot of HK for a better view.

Thats what I experience too, but fortunately I dont need to access my software CD's enough to justify doing something different than stacking them in a file box. Of course, the one time I need some certain CD it will take me 30min of going through every single CD until I get to the bottom and there it is (or I passed it and have to repeat the whole thing). I'd adopt your setup in a second if I had the space!

The Dell is a Precision Workstation 340 with 2 17" (1280x1024) displays and 1 20" (1600x1200) display.
The ThinkPad is a T42p with Dock.
Accessories are a Nextel Blackberry, GN Netcom wireless headset, Cisco 7960 IP Phone, and a Plextor PX-708UF DVDRW.
Very nice setup.

I just started using a spare external LCD from the office here at home. That, in combination with a spare Dell keyboard, makes for less neck cramps on the X40.
I tend, however, to leave the X40 'open' (i.e., screen up) when I'm using it, partially because I get a better wireless signal here in the house, but also because it seems to run cooler.
Those of you in the same situations, or with docks, how do you do it?

My ThinkPad 760E sitting next to the console for my two desktop workstations. The monitor is a brand new Samsung SyncMaster 997DF, the sweetest 19" monitor 200 bucks can buy.

Close-up of the ThinkPad 760E. Did I mention my digital camera stinks?

My two workstations hooked up to the same monitor and keyboard through a switcher. The silver one has an Athlon XP 1800+, 1gb RAM, 40gb HD, WinXP Pro SP2, SoundBlaster Audigy, Radeon 9000 128mb, 16x DVD+-RW Dual layer, 32x CDRW and the beige box is a PII 350, 256mb RAM, 3 scsi hd's, one 2gb, 4gb and one 512mb. It has an 8x cdrw and a Hercules 3D prohet 64mb graphics card.
