A couple comments on the systems...
While the HP has a fingerprint reader, it doesn't actually authenticate in the BIOS, only the operating system. Count that as a negative for security.
The resolution differences are quite apparent, if not immediately by the start menu, by the System Properties window.

I wouldn't say it's old.

The R60 was built before the T60 was, but it has new plastics (base & lid).

The T60 I bought in Feb 07. The R60 I bought 2 weeks ago from HarryC on the forums. The DV9500 I got in Jan 08, but was a display model since Sep 07. The T61P I bought in Apr 08

Actually, after writing all that, I just realized what you were saying in regards to old. I used "old" in the sense that I don't have it any more.

Interesting! So, I don't think I've ever seen a T61 WS up close...I noticed a few things that took me aback: 1) No visible antenna covers on the LCD cover? Did they do away with these? (Looks nice...) 2) These is no eject button nor markings on the optical drive?! 3) The front-mounted SD card reader on the T6x/p WS models is apparently optional...

1) The antenna covers are just located in different locations and appear to be part of the plastic mold. Looking at the opened T61, you can see one located just above the LCD, and one located at the upper left side.

2) That is most likely not an optical drive. I would guess that it is a hard drive adapter.
