Hello,

I've found a real bargain with this T42, which looks brand new, which has remaining warranty until Jan. 2009. I paid it 310€ shipping included.

It's a 2373-4ZG :

Product: ThinkPad T42 2373-4ZG

Original description: P M 735, 512MB RAM, 40GB 5400rpm HDD, 14.1 XGA(1024x768) TFT LCD, 32MB ATI Radeon 7500, 24x24x24x/8x CD-RW/DVD, Intel 802.11b wireless(MPCI), Bluetooth/Modem(CDC), 1Gb Ethernet(LOM), UltraNav, Secure Chip, 6 cell Li-Ion battery, WinXP Pro

The vendor will send me a second 512 MB memory module (I should have received the laptop with 1 GB).
Battery life is 2.5 hours, and I got WiFi g, not b.

Here are some pics (not great quality - blurry phone pics took by a friend :() :

No responses?!?

Nice machine you got there.

Did you get the RAM stick your vendor was supposed to send you?

Nice machine. Despite the problems my T42 has given me, I love it to death.

Ooooooh, some answers ! :P

:)

Yes, I have received the 512 MB module, and the laptop has now 1 GB.

It's a very nice machine, but :

- The screen isn't so nice,
- The 2 USB ports are very close, so, I can't plug an USB key and a mouse or a webcam, for example.

But that's not so important, it's a great machine. :) Windows XP flies on it.

I have yet to find any USB mouse/keyboard/webcam plug that was so thick as to block the other port. Most USB keys are also fairly slim. You must have really strange plugs back there.

Hello,

In fact, the trouble is coming from the USB keys. There are no problems with the cam or the mouse. :)

Fortunately, I rarely use too many USB devices at the same time. And I have enough PCs on my network if I couldn't plug what i want. :)
