Here's mine:

Simple and beautiful (I use quicklaunch, I don't like desktop icons). Reason for MediaPlayer is that I can't stream di.fm over winamp through proxy.

Wallpaper is from skins.be, might be potentially NWS, hence no link. She's Monica Bellucci.

Check out the home of the desktopography packs for two very beautiful and free wallpaper packs. Desktopography Pack #2 is advertised on the frontpage, but I recommend to click the "Download Latest Exhibition" link on the top right to get both packs. The wallpaper of my current desk is included in pack#1. Enjoy!

In regards to the taskbar icons...WTH are you doing!! :P

Got 2 gigs of RAM or something?

Properly managed, you can have tons of light tasks running in the taskbar without adversely affecting performance vis a vis memory resources; the same goes for the number of processes in the process list within the Task Manager. :)

Well sure, but look at it!! If only from an aesthetics POV.

by christopher_wolf
From that POV, they lose their effectiveness as a quick way to access a UI for a background process. Imagine having Windows expand the tray, looking for the right icon to click amongst the lot of them, then Windows hiding the tray icons again. Now that would be annoying.

[censored], that home folder is huge, and the spider creepy. I like it. :)

I like the background of that spider, as well.

Maybe I should start making more backgrounds; suprisingly, it is somewhat difficult to find a real good background image on the web unless you spend alot of time looking. :)

[censored] turbo audi, that one girl towards the bottom is smashed! And the afri-cant dance label is classic.

Your clone at the Halloween party did a good job!

ha ha yea, thats Rory's girl, im sure she was quite wasted. ([censored] freshmen!)

My clone and the African kid are my housemates, good friends of mine. He did pretty good for not really looking anything like me. I basically wear Adidas pants, my Texas hat and wife beater everyday, so I just lent him those 3 things.

For all administrative accounts, I use this blue desktop:

I love the blue color, is it the one you find when you log on a W2K computer ?

I used to have a blue desktop for a very long time.

Now, I use the black color, and no icon, except the rubbish bin one.

Currently, I use the Lunatic Theme, but without wallpaper :

Hey, you look familiar. Have I seen you somewhere before?

The wallpaper is by VladStudio, but I modified it with the IBM logo. Here's the original, and here's my version. :D

I don't know if it's the same as the W2K one, but it's XP's default color.
