I think you can find it on DeviantArt, or by doing a google search for "Longhorn Bliss" "Aero Bliss" or "Vista Bliss."

It is pretty cool, I like the stormy, roiling cloud look.

Well I found a couple that look like it. Unfortunately except for the one @ 640 * 480 all the others had that darn cowhead or windows flag in the corner. I need a high res 'empty' version.

Off I go to search deviantart.

http://www.wstaylor.net/longhorn.html - a few, including a 10x7 one.
http://www.deviantart.com/view/1215083/ - a little bigger

http://www.customize.org/view/37978 - a little different, but nice.

Hope that gets you started!

What did you do? Cram all your programs into the quick launch bar?

Opus Luna 1.5 (http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/4533528/)

Most of that author's stuff is quality, check it out. Oh, and don't ask me where I got the desktop background, but if you want it PM me and I'll gladly email it to anyone.

I see some of you use custom themes or Luna; for me, Classic does the job 8) .

Alright. So I have downloaded the opus theme. Copied the files to the windows\resources\themes folder.

Went to display properties. Nothing showing under themes or appearance. So how do I apply these visual styles?

Never mind about that. I got the patch program from neowin.net. I ran it, rebooted, got a stop message, rebooted and am good to go now.

Heh, well... I didn't notice it had finished when I took the screenshot. But maybe I ripped the DVD myself? Oh... It's a screener... bugger!

I'll be careful not to drop the soap.

There really is not much to it. I'm running Ubuntu Linux 5.10 on my X40. Ubuntu runs the Gnome desktop system by default, and I've just downloaded these themes from art.gnome.org:

Window border: Clearviews balloon
Controls (Application): marble-look
Icons: Gartoon

The background can be found there as well, it's called Amarillo Verdoso.

Exactly how you install them depends a little on your distribution, but in Ubuntu it's done via System > Preferences > Theme.

New background, same theme, same attempt at having no icons or program menu (and starting everything via Win-R shortcuts):

Yep, I'll throw up a link to the 1600x1200 original tomorrow afternoon when I get my system back. It's a nice background, see if you can spot the "trick" in it :P

Nothing.. I HATE icons on my Desktop.. (Which is why I could go back to Windows 3.1 if it were powerful enough lol) QuickLaunch is perfect for the applications I use most..

I will be running Windows XP when my SpeedStep'd board and my new CPU arrive..

I'm with you on that one. I hate having icons all over the desktop. Nothing unnerves me more than to work on someones computer that has icons all over the place. Too messy.

Although, I must admit that I have a few on mine, but they are filling the black border at the top of my World Map desktop. That and the recycle bin that I keep in the lower right corner.

Sorry for the delay. I got the wallpaper here:
http://filez.nnm.ru/my_desktop/29.10.20 ... papers_v2/

This site is chock-full of some amazing high-res (1600x1200) wallpapers - you've got to dig around the other directories to find them all though.
