Long story short, I replaced the bottom panel, palmrest and lid of my X60s with new/used parts. The old parts were heavily worn, I can only surmise it was in use in a fleet of some kind.

Anyway, the palmrest and bottom plate were both new shipped from China. The lid (full assembly, minus LCD panel) was used, purchased from the USA.

Today the last part came in, the replacement lid assembly. The hinges were in good shape in the old display, but I decided to use the new ones because of the WWAN antenna. That was another deciding factor, the WWAN antenna on the external of the computer really did nothing for me, especially since I don't even use it. I have already pulled the card anyway.

Well, here are some comparison shots. The pictures really don't do a very good job, but you can kind of see the difference.

Nice. I'm gonna do this to my X60s one piece at a time. Used eBay purchase. I could not stand the original keyboard....all shiny and missing the letters, so I ordered a new one immediately. Now the palmrest (shiny and broken PC card slot) and LCD cover will be next.

Where did you get your parts?

I'm sorry I never responded to your post mate. I got my parts on ebay, if your still looking for them, let me know and I will direct you to the seller. They still sell the parts on ebay, they have a ton of them.
