Forum on Thinkpad Keyboard

#1 Post by x220love » Tue Nov 29, 2016 6:27 am

Hello,
I would like to post a survey to get a general consensus on the keyboard of the modern Thinkpad.
Where I could I post my my survey?

The link to my survey is on the link below:-

Appreciate if you could help advise where to post this.

Nothing against your trying, but you should know that a large amount of forum members are not happy with Lenovo
since they messed up the keyboards, beginning with the T430/T530/W530/X230/X1C series.
To give you an idea, read this (long) thread: http://forum.thinkpads.com/viewtopic.php?f=69&t=120776

If all you want is find out if you should return your T460 and buy a 13 instead, your poll is not the right way to go here.
Pose your question(s) in this sub-Forum: ThinkPad T430/T530 and later Series
We don't have a sub-Forum for the 13.

PS: I've seen your T460/13 exploits on Reddit, is it so hard to make up your mind?

Ah. Its a a very painful process for me. I just can't sleep and it really bothers me. I really only want to keep one device. Owning two devices just doesn't feel right.

Thinkpad13 = Delivers good keyboard, expected short-term usage (I dont think Lenovo will ever be good anymore for long-term usage, their product cycle seem to only get shorter and shorter)
T460 = Classical machine, feels more closer to my Thinkpad Lineage(but really unsure of how this will work in the long run) so its durable, keyboard a bit unsatisfactory. Not sure if I will use all the ports on the T460 to full extent as I spend more time on the road/cafe now and less time in the office.

Previous Machines : R60, Z60, R61, X220

its hard for me to move from my x220 to a newer device.

Ps:Sorry for posting it here, would you like me to remove this post?
And yes, I am the same guy from Reddit.

IMHO the only merit of T13 is that it's cheaper. T460 dwarfs it in any other aspect. But frankly, if your "x220love' is that strong, just keep x220. Try forgetting all that mad choice which, it seems, is not necessary. You'll sleep better.
x320/i7-2620M/8GB/256gb.ssd/FHD13.3''IPS/debian_testing (main driver)
x230/i5/8GB/500gb.hdd+256gb.m2ssd/IPS/debian_stable+win7 (better half)

Yes. I want to get a FHD on my X220. Can I change the panel?
My X220 is still alive, just that the palm rest is chipped from the edge.

Edit: Maybe also get a newer keyboard. The TN display on the x220 were hurting my eyes. I got really tired of it.
