I'm not sure but a possible limit might be: "your" last post in a thread can only be deleted, as long as you stay in that thread.
But if you can no longer delete your own post, you can always edit it and remove/replace what you want.

No, it does not work for last post in the thread. It looks like that right after I posted it. It looks like the [X] button is enabled in this forum only but not in the others.
