T420 Running Slow & need 64bit Recovery

#1 Post by Tweever » Thu Mar 22, 2018 5:10 am

Folks - I have a T420 running W7 32 bit. Running slow for first 5 mins then fine. Checked out all ususal suspects indexing / startup programs etc but no joy. Clean install of W7 32 bit ok for a few days until it happened again probably after a W7 update was installed. I suspect it is something to do with updates!!

Does anyone have a set of original Lenovo W7 64bit recovey and driver DVD’s that I could obtain to fully rebuild my T420 ? The lappy was originally supplied with W7 64bit but the original recovery partition is not present.

Any help appreciated. Thanks, David.

Burn CDs/DVDs of those ISOs and you'll be grand.
No need for originals.

In fact, the original set I got from Lenovo are merely DVD R discs that were burned, then had an ink label stamped on them...

I recently received another T420 off ebay--would it be possible to get the isos? I can provide Serial number of T420 if needed.

While I do have a Windows 7 iso lying around I'd like to install the original Lenovo environment :D

Thanks,
Jonathan

The Lenovo System Update will reload all of your drivers after it examines your machine. Easy peasy.

The only one you definitely need is your wi-fi driver to get to the internet.
