Notification emails not working

Hey RBS,
Perhaps you can assist me with another matter.
When I first tried to log in as Peter Linu, I was hampered by the fact that I use a VPN. Admin managed to sort that.
I am now having the same issue with receiving emails.

Nah, that's a forum software glitch: you don't always get notified by email that there is a PM waiting.

I'm not using PMs. Just notification that someone replied to a post. I can see it in the email but the email doesn't allow me to get into the forum site.

Have you checked the proper box(es) in the User Control Panel?
FYI: I have never subscribed to any post/forum, so I don't know those emails.
I use a VPN (Surfshark) as well, but it has never stopped me anywhere.

RBS,
I don't know how to explain it better except with screenshots.
Incidentally, logging into the forum was OK once the administrator sorted out my logging in with several different countries (I suspect it's the same problem in email).

I get an email notification
I open it and see pic 1.
I click on it and see pic 2.

Upload those pictures to e.g. Imgur and then post the links to them here.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that your problem is that you need to log into the forum in order to view the post.

The URL contains the information needed to reference the post/thread but you have since logged out.

rkawakami,
Why is this so difficult? I have bin getting exactly the same email notifications from the Linus Mint Forum for years.

From what I can remember, this forum does not have a means to remain logged in at all times; essentially what you want to do when clicking on a link in your email notification. The only thing that I can find in the forum settings is an option under Load Settings. User sessions can last a maximum of 4 hours before they expire.

My board style is Thinkpads Legacy (in User Control Panel/Profile).
I am always remaining logged in.
Maybe you have your browser set to empty cache/history/cookies/etc. when you close down the browser or PC/laptop?
If so, tell it not to delete Forum cookies and password.

I too run the legacy version but do NOT shut down my Firefox browser; only close the tab when I sign out of the forum. Both W520 laptops I use at home are put to Sleep each night with Firefox still running. On the rare occasion that I leave the forum tab open with the laptop unattended, the forum's four hour limit kicks in and signs me out. I've done it this way ever since becoming a moderator. I also do not use the "remember me" option when logging in so I'm not exactly sure if that's the way one can remain logged in "permanently".

AFAIK I do use the "Remember me".
My browser has a TPF tab open all day long.
Maybe the browser-brand is important? I use Waterfox.

And I switch my laptop off overnight.
