Since I see suggestions being made and implemented on forums.thinkpads.com, I thought I would put my 2-cents in.
Regarding the FAQ. When I see someone say: "See item number X in the FAQ", I see this as confusing. Logically a person reading this would click on the button at the top of the page that says: ? FAQ. But of course if you click on that FAQ, you are not brought to the forum.thinkpads.com FAQ. Instead you are brought to a phpBB FAQ. I think that the forum.thinkpads.com FAQ should be at the top of the page, along side with, and clearly marked as different from the phpBB FAQ.
Secondly, if you go to: "READ ME FIRST FAQ then post", the actual FAQ referred to in "See item number X in the FAQ" is the 4th item down, listed as: "Announcement : FAQ (thinkpads.com - Frequently Asked Questions)". I think this should be at the very top of the list instead of the 4th item down. This would make it less confusing. Either that, or have 2 listings on the index page. One being the "READ ME FIRST FAQ then post", and the other being "FAQ (thinkpads.com - Frequently Asked Questions)".
Just the FAQ's
Re: Just the FAQ's
The link to to the FAQ has been in my sig since the FAQ was originally posted. That's about as far as I'm inclined to go with spoonfeeding people who can't be bothered to read the very first section in the forum which is helpfully labeled "Read Me First FAQ then post". The other mods may feel differently.GomJabbar wrote:Regarding the FAQ. When I see someone say: "See item number X in the FAQ", I see this as confusing.
