Yes, the mods here are to strict and to nice and to involved and spend to much time trying to help people, and spend to much time making great friends, and like to goof off to much, and are for the most part really really nice people who enjoy this community that bill has created, it's unique my friend, stick around for a while, you'll see. :D Are we perfect.....no, but we try. We're all different and try to always think things through from every angle before reacting or overreacting :D

Do I get out of control, yes, do I go off the deep end yes, but nonny/James/John usually set me straight too.

Mike,

Whatever you or the other mods do, i will give all of you my moral support. :-)

It needs to take a new member some time to really get adapted to this forum and also get to know more about everyone of us. Remember that thread started by Turbo Audi about: who is *behind* the computer?? We are like a big family...so much fun and jokes..

Mods here are generally great, but I think a little more moderation of the marketplace could take place. WAY too much thread crapping by a small group of individuals that seem to have commandered the marketplace for their own purposes, and appear as more commercial and/or full-time sellers than not.

If readers in the forum don't like the price of an item, they shouldn't comment on how much *they* think the item should be sold for, that creates an uneven marketplace.

Sure, someone asking for price guidance on an item is fine, but more often than not the thread crappers are trying to get the price lowered so they can buy the item and then flip it. I have ceased selling on this forum for these exact issues.
T43 1.8 / 2GB / 60GB 7K100 X31 1.4GHz / 2GB / 60GB 7K100
T20 700MHz / 512MB / 40GB 570E 500MHz / 320 MB
570 366MHz / 64MB (x2) 755CV 100MHz 486 / 8MB / 540MB

losmeme, I hardly ever go to the marketplace because it is not my interest, but I do agree with your sentiment. I have seen a couple of threads like you describe. Yes, I feel the same: "If readers in the forum don't like the price of an item, they shouldn't comment on how much *they* think the item should be sold for..."

I agree with your statement, and have been monitoring the marketplace very closely, I encourage people to PM me with threadcrap information when they see it. I too have been crapped on and it is not a pleasant or deserved experience. Most people just want to sell their items and don't want a lot of the drama that goes along with that. I created this sticky to remind people of what you speak and perhaps linking to it when you see someone threadcrapping would send the proper message.

PERSONAL ATTACKS ON SELLERS!

I also think that if anyone is having an issue about anything in reference to the MP they can PM a mod as for the most part we like to get involved and do what we can albeit, sometimes our resources are limited but we can listen.

Since this thread is still somewhat active...

There was a time (not all that long ago) when the Off-Topic forum had threads related to politics, religion, economics, and other social relevant issues. In many instances, posts to the threads were made by admins/mods. In some cases the threads were started by admins/mods. For the most part, those were some of the most civil, intelligent, reasoned and reasonable discussions of the various issues addressed I've ever seen.

I miss those discussions.
