Deleting repost

#1 Post by ennma » Sat Jun 23, 2007 10:05 pm

Hello ,
I would like to suggest a notice for a repost, so that the owner can delete it. this came out of my observation:

a newtopic posted then answer provided" check this thread".

an example would be

http://forum.thinkpads.com/viewtopic.php?t=44850

thanks

The original poster of any message can delete it.

the original poster can delete it as long as no one has replied to it.

Not unless you're a mod or an admin.

For the record, deleting a thread can actually make it harder for some people to find answers, which is why even the mods and admins won't normally delete a thread. Information is information, even if they are considered "noob" questions.

There have been people in the past that have gone through and deleted the content of their posts, and it makes it really hard for someone who is searching for a specific topic, only to find that a reponse, or a question is missing.
