the rainbow lorikeets are beautiful birds..
i'm just partial to the plain white birds because they tend to be friendly, loving and sweet..
also the fancy pink cockatoo's (aka moluccan cockatoo)..
the flock here has 8 birds, among which are a pair of eclectus parrots, a yellow nape amazon (a most loyal and loving bird, immortalized on charlie's shoulder), 3 umbrella (plain white) cockatoos, one frightened goffin cockatoo (a rehome i am working with) and molly (aka smoochie) a male moluccan..
and soon to include a red tail african gray (a rehome that might arrive soon if the personal inspection of the premesis and flock goes well)..
the flock started with toco toucans who all perished from a variety of causes over a period of years, ranging from mis-adventure to disease to general old age..
bill got the white cockatoo and other admins and mods will, in time, get a bird of their choice if suitable drawings are found and as time permits..
a few users who are also past thinkpad customers have crossed feathers..
ray,
talking about a tree full of parrots, when i lived on the 65' sailboat i kept it for a time at the city dock at las olas in ft. lauderdale, FL..
during that time there was a huge flock of small green parrots who would congregate in the trees along the dockside..
when the berries in the trees would get overripe they would also become alcholic..
the sight of many hundred drunken birds carrying on in the trees, falling out, rolling on the ground laughing and staggaring to and fro
was quite a party to behold..
i think they were quaker parrots that had taken up residence after being abandoned by their former owners..
there were also flocks huge macaws and monkeys in the bushes where the old naval experimantal station had been during and after WW-2..
uhmm, i think that answers most questions..
