Hi,

I was trying to send a PM to a forum user TPCollector and got the error message below:

Failed sending email :: PHP ::

DEBUG MODE

Line : 234
File : emailer.php

What should I do now?

Any help is appreciated!

Best Regards,
Tony

I got that message about an hour ago as well.
Despite that, my message was posted.
Check your Sentbox and/or Outbox.

we aren't quite sure what's going on.   bill morrow (the site owner/admin) is aware of the issue and is looking into it.

This has happened to me today also when sending PMs. However, just now it also happened when I posted a reply to a regular thread (the reply was posted contrary to the error message).

Edit: and it has happened again when I posted this message .

And if you do get the DEBUG MODE error message, resist the urge to go back and submit the post/PM again. In most cases, the message does get through. To be sure, open up another browser page/tab and check the thread you are posting to or your PM's Outbox and Sentbox queues.

(Must be Murphy's law at work... I also just got the DEBUG error message when posting this :) ).

This issue has been covered in the downtime thread as well. It wouldn't surprise me if it's the host that is the culprit here.

By the way, I can confirm the posts DO go through. If you have Firefox, you can just go back, and selectively refresh the Topic review pane to make sure it's there before resubmitting it. The only drawback (aside from the main one) is that the thread you just posted to appears unread despite your new post.

The forum owner is aware of the problem. He has stated that the forum may have to go offline for perhaps a few hours to get this settled.

Thanks for the replies!

I checked the sent box and it wasn't there so I sent him again the message and it worked this time :)

Cheers,
Tony
