I type under my new location this:
Portsmouth, Dominica

and I get this....
The field “YOUR ACCOUNT WILL NOT BE ACTIVATED IF YOU DO NOT FOLLOW THESE INSTRUCTIONS COMPLETELY. Please enter your LOCATION in the following format exactly: City, State (if in US) or City, Country (if outside US)�? is too long, a maximum of 40 characters is allowed.

What am I doing wrong?

There are (confusingly) 2 location fields. I haven't made any changes to mine since before the forum changed it's software. I entered my location in the top location field, above where it says occupation. The lower location field I left as is: "City, State (if in US) or City, Country (if outside US)".

Try entering User Control Panel > Options > Profile and changing it there. Does that work for you?

@mattbiernat: I went ahead and changed your profile in both location locations .
