Cheers, thinkpadcollection

Interesting machine... I wonder when it was made. I wonder if Tadpole computers built this device.

According to wikipedia:
"The Model N40 was PowerPC-based notebook developed and manufactured by Tadpole Technology for IBM. It became available on 25 March 1994, priced at US$12,000. The internal batteries could power the system for 45 minutes only and an external battery pack was available for this reason."

Wow, this makes the W701ds look like it could last a lifetime on battery.
How to use IBM RISC Laptop.
Step 1: Plug in AC Adapter
Step 2: Turn on
Step 3: Don't ever move.
Looks like a nice machine but I don't have $500 just laying around like that.
Hope you're having fun with its UltraBook battery life.

Thinkpad4by3's Law of the Universe.
The efficiency of two screens equally sized with equal numbers if pixels are equal. The time spent by a 4:3 user complaining about 16:9 is proportional to the inefficiency working with a 16:9 display, therefore the amount of useful work extracted is equal.

From the picture it looks like it's running AIX version 3 something. I'm sorry I missed the auction. I did Y2K migrations from that version.
If anything went wrong with that unit, I would have no idea where parts or install media could be located to fix it.
