M58p SFF GPU options

HI, Im currently wondering whats the fastest possible GPU you can run on the M58p in terms of dimensions and power draw from the 280W PSU i only plan to use the M58p for video consumption and occasional HL2 and other source game currently my only candidate is a 7570 and im told that it draws up to 38-40-ish watts i dont plan to run a C2Q probably a E8600 for power consumption reasons and idk if the heatsink can handle it

I guess ASUS GT1030 should be way better while not being more expensive.

Look for 128bit path for memory. This GT1030 is lame due to 64bit width and not quite right price scale. There is good ones out there in $150-160 range.

Where is this GT1030 can be obtained for $70? Ebay and other online vendors sells this for 140-150 new for *low profile* passive cooled or active cooled GT1030. 64bit vram lesser performance still is noticeable. I have plenty of systems that used 64 bit video cards and upgrading to 128bits helped even on P4 and slower C2D systems.

Radeon HD7570 low profile is not too expensive on used market like ebay, can be DDR3 or GDDR5 both on 128bit vram.

Any Radeon RX 460 2GT LP 2GB GDDR5 128-bit Low Profile for same price as GT1030 but based on 128 bits 2GB vram. Low profile bracket usually supplied but can find low profile bracket on ebay as well.

Well, $70-80 is the price for new 1030GT in Poland; you can get one for that price in any shop.. HD 7570 with 1Gig DDR5@128bit costs around $35 here, so this is a nice option to test actually.

RX 460, on the other hand, costs around $200 here...

I think if you wanna go get the GT 1030, might as well go get the GTX 750 Ti LP used if you can find that cheaper. 750 Ti is slightly more powerful than the GT 1030, though it draws a lot more power for sure.

Yes, but 1030 does not require PSU upgrade. It maxes at 30W.

My GT 730 with 2GB DDR3 RAM and 384 CUDA uses only about 25W and best of all: has no fan (but needs 2 slot-spaces)!

Neither does the 750 Ti or 1050 Ti. They all top off at 75W and do not need any 6-pin connectors. They say they need 300W minimum PSU, but I am 100% sure that a 280W PSU is sufficient as long as you don't use the 105W CPUs, provided that you take good care of the PSU with best ventilation and cleaning.
That said, anything more than a 750 Ti is a very unbalanced choice to pair with a E8600. (Trust me, I tried pairing E8400 with a GTX 1050 Ti and the GPU was just too much of an overkill) To be fair, the best CPU that's supported by this motherboard to pair with 750 Ti are the quad core CPUs.

I thought so, this guy is in USA means HD7570 is reasonable for this needs if this user is more concerned about price and *is* one slot solution. Other suggested solutions are all passive or active cooled takes 2 slots width even the bracket is one slot.

The prices goes for this much on ebay and e-retailers for GTd1030 and RX 460. Not in poland.

Yup, I'd not rish guessing that anything may be more expensive in the US.

Anyway, GT1030 uses one slot w/ active cooling.

Also, I don't think a E8600 can ever be able to utilise more performance power than a GT 1030 delivers. If you are worried about the heat output of the regular C2Q 4 cores, go for the Xeon X3363.
