M900 Tiny W7 download anyone?

#1 Post by RealBlackStuff » Wed Sep 08, 2021 11:16 am

For my M900 Tiny desktop I'm looking for W7-Pro/SP1 64-bit in English.
On Lenovo's website this was described as: FAP Win7PROx64 SP1 US.
They used these FRUs/Part numbers, all for the same:
01GF769
00VC801
00VC647
01GE200
If anyone has a digital download of any of these, to make a USB Recovery key, I'd be grateful to get it.

Reason: the Skylake and newer CPUs do not support USB3.0 during an install, unless you manage to create a bootable USB key with installed USB drivers.
There is a Gigabyte WindowsImageTool.exe program to insert USB3.0 drivers in a recovery set, but so far it sounds awfully complicated.
Lovely day for a Guinness! (The Real Black Stuff)
Lenovo: X240, X250, T440p, T480, M900 Tiny.

PS: the old Boardroom website is still available on the Wayback Machine

Hey pal,

It's not complicated at all. It takes some time but it's automated. That's how I installed W7 on my M900.

It runs well. I activated Windows with an OEM digital key (M900 doesn't have a sticker).

In the meantime I solved the problem by temporarily installing a 2242 size Superboot 2 SSD in my T440p.
Installed W7 on it, then moved the SSD into the M900.
Works like a charm.
