Model M, definitely. I'm using a late 80s model M at my office. Strangely, the new Dell server I ordered came with a semi-decent keyboard (not the Quietkey). It is a small-form-factor and has long key travel and while not clicky like the Model M, does have semi-decent feel and is fairly fast.

Well, Microsoft split keyboards for me - preferably the old, noisy original Elite model. They aren't very well made - the labels wear off the keys very quickly, and they tend to fail key-by-key. I started with a PS/2 model 50 and kept a model 70 an embarrassing time. (Kept that one ten years. At the end, it had a 486-66 in a slot and a 540 MB SCSI harddrive. I finally retired it when the planar board failed.)

I'm typing this on a Microsoft 4400 - this is one of the junkiest Microsoft keyboards they've come up with yet, but this was all I could find locally. I have dirty thoughts for the way they keep moving the buttons around.

I also converted to Dvorak back in the 90's. Research indicates that it's not so much better, but I think it's more fun, and I like slapping keyboards around - maybe that's why they don't last longer for me.

This is my second TP. The first one was a refurb T-21. It ran like the Engenizer bunny, but eventually it became sick - and I didn't like the prices of the new Ts.

I've had the R52 for over a year now, and it's GREAT for the things I do with it. I don't mind using the TP keyboard when I'm mobile, but sitting around . . . I have the trashy 4400 in my lap and a cat asleep with her front paws on the corner of it.
