I have an Intellistation E Series (model 6893). I'm now getting an error 176 at boot and a message that the system has been tampered with, the keyboard is now locked, and I should cycle power. It won't boot beyond that.
I've replaced the CMOS battery, changed the system board jumper position to erase bios settings, reseated the system cover multiple times, all to no avail. I've gone into the BIOS settings and disabled anything remotely resembling security. The hardware manual says that error 176 indicates that the system cover has been removed, but doesn't say anything about how to resolve the error.
Has anyone run into this before, or have a suggestion on how to resolve it?
Thanks,
Scott
