Upgrad Netvista X-40 6643

#1 Post by rssb » Thu Mar 16, 2006 2:52 pm

Hello,
What are my possible options to upgrade a Netvista 6643 series computer with 866mhz pentium 3 with PC133 support.

Are they any later series, which have the same physical dimensions to consider an upgrade of the motherboard itself.

thanks

A 6643 is an All-in-One computer. It didn't look promising to me from the sketches in the user guide. I have a PC300PL in the basement that is a tower machine with a good PS. I put a 1.4GHz Powerleap upgrade in that machine and was only modestly happy. The bus was still slow (as your is), the hard drive is not particularly fast, and there is not much cache. So overall, the box was not a particularly good candidate for upgrading.

If you really want to, you can put up to a tualatin p4 processor in it with an adaptor that makes up for the different voltages, but it will still be a 133 fsb.

Simpler still would be to put in a 1ghz processor, it will slide right in.
