First IBM Desktop

Well , I've bought myself a Netvista 8307-63U. I thought I'd check-in here and get a little insight from those that are familair with them.
Spec's. 2.5 gb, Hdd-40gb, 256 Ram? , CdRom & Floppy.
I'll be looking for more Ram and prob a burner.
It has no OS, so I plan on XP-Pro. I've read all the Post's here and checked on IBM/Lenova Support. JD

Get at least an additional 512Mb of Ram. That's the minimum additional, get more if you wish. And yes, I agree - get a CD burner (or a DVD burner). The hard drive is small, so if the total price of all three of the the above isn't too much, then get the bigger drive before all the work of installing. ... JD Hurst

Just a note: Installed 80gb Hdd, and loaded XP-PRO, it run's real quiet and smooth. Still need my ram & burner . Glad I got it, JD.
