New A61 Tripp Lite UPS Issue

#1 Post by Shelby Griggs » Sat Sep 15, 2007 2:05 pm

Well my ordered A60 finally came after two months as an A61. All seems to work well, EXCEPT it will not recognize my Tripp Lite UPS system via USB cable. All other USB devices seem to work.

I have e-mails and calls into Tripp Lite, BUT am still waiting for an answer.

I thought the UPS might be bad, so I bought a second one, same issue. The original UPS was working fine on my old system AND works fine on another old Dell I have here, all running XP Pro.

The issue seems to be specific to either the A61 hardware or BIOS and/or a XP Pro problem.

Does anybody know what drivers WIN XP Pro might require?

BTW, I had posted a couple of months ago about adding a RAID 1 setup, that went off very well and seems to work fine, I used a Promise Technology Raid Disk controller, took up one of my two PCI slots, the modem is the other. Not much expansion capability in the newer cases, at least off the shelf already built units.

Have you tried installing the Tripp Lite PowerAlert drivers, available here?:

I don't use a Tripp Lite UPS, but I do know that for my APC model my A60 wouldn't recognize the UPS until I installed the company driver software suite, even though I ended up using the XP management tools.

Thanks for the link, I will look around there and see what I come up with. I know on both of my other PC's it just worked, BUT it might be something to do with the Lenovo factory install of XP.

Does your A61 have a multi memory card reader?

the foxcon readers were causing havox with USB ports on the A60's.... I think that Lenovo dumped them, but you might want to open the case and see if the reader is foxcon.

Thanks, but I do not have any memory card readers installed.
