Sorry if I seem to be posting so many dumb questions, but my experience with PC's is a little limited, and you have all been very helpfull so far.
I have a 12 gig hard drive for my ThinkPad 760XD, but as far as I know, the overlay driver to get around the TP's 8 gig limit must be installed in the TP. I tried it in a desktop and it didn't work.
I tried deleting all partitions in Ranish Partition Manager, and the TP still wouldn't even try to boot with the drive installed. Now I'm trying to use windows to redelete everything. RPart seems to leave something behind that I can't get rid of. I'm going to see if windows will get rid of it.
The little drive is now installed in my PC300PL. There is nothing wrong with any of the cables. It has power. I can feel it vibrating, so I know it's spinning.
How do I force the BIOS to admit it's there?
