1988, brought from Sears a Lazer brand Compact XT, 512kb of memory, CGA or Herc graphics, one 5 1/2 floppy in the side like an Apple IIC. Tried to order the chips to reach 640k, ended up with the add on 1mb LIM board! No chips tho. Wasn't long till I was up to 640 tho.
Less than a year later got the expanded memory chips bought cheep.
Had both externall 2nd floppy drives, the 360k and the much nicer 720. Few years later I opened it for the last time and replaced the built in floppy with a 3.5 version, cuts boot up time when you don't have to switch floppys. Thought I had a fast machine with the thing in Turbo mode, both 720 drives hooked up and Ramdrive.
Humm, maybe I should load dos5 on the 240 that has a dim screen?
