Preboot Hardware Diagnostic not working

#1 Post by noworrries » Tue Nov 07, 2006 8:15 pm

Hi, my new thinkpad had crashed with a Parity Error in a BSOD ones (will investigate on it, but no other probs so far, PCDoctor Ramtest did not reveil any trouble)

So for testing the ram, I wanted to see what the preboot/Rescue and recovery environment Hardware diagnostics would tell.

So, as I was told after clicking on the link, I switch the laptop off and on again, an image of Win98 started booting and an menu appeared, offering only
a)Restore to factory defaults
b)Restore a backup

no option for doing any hardware diag...

Has anyone else experienced such?
How to recover the Hardware diagnostics?

Only yesterday I djd install the new R&R 3.10.0022. Since I had never tried that hardware diagnostics before, I do not know if the new version has anything to do with it. (I do not know, if it updates the preboot environment at all or only the windows tools)

Thanks
