Hi, I've been using TPFanControl for some time but I'm completely new to NHC. I have 2 questions here:
1. Can they work together? Ever since I installed NHC, tpfancontrol has started to act weirdly. It says "Warning: Can't read Status (possible conflict with other software)" or "Errors: Set fan control to0x80, Result: CMD IGNORED (PASS)" and then shuts itself down after some time. Is there something wrong?
2. Will undervolting the CPU reduce its life?
Thanks in advance!
Tony

Re: Quick Question about NHC
I don't know if you can use both without any such issues, but why do you want to use both? NHC can do everything tpfancontrol can do and more. tpfancontrol can basically monitor and change the speed of the fan. NHC can do the same thing + undervolting of the CPU to make it run cooler and several other things. I used tpfancontrol for some time to make the fan more silent, but my PC was still pretty warm. When i changed to NHC i managed to keep the fan quiet, but i also managed to make the PC run without being so warm because of the undervolting of the CPU.ulrich.von.lich wrote:1. I cannot tell for sure, but i find that hard to believe and never heard any such story. I would rather think the opposite.ulrich.von.lich wrote: 2. Will undervolting the CPU reduce its life?

You need a "script" to enable ACPI control on a ThinkPad...check Johan's posts here.
