No Sound

#1 Post by newyorkpaulie » Tue Nov 13, 2012 6:37 am

Anyone know how to troubleshoot a "no sound" issue? Using both WinXP and Mint11 on a T30 (2366-96U).

If you've got no sound in both XP and Mint, the audio chip is likely toast.

I've seen it happen more on A3x machines, but have owned a couple of T30s with this issue as well.

PCMCIA sound card or a board swap - your call.

Good luck.

Can you give me any more info about the sound card? I will try an eBay search meantime.
Thanks!

Honestly, if there's no sound from the board, I trash it...so any recommendations on actual cards that will do the job will have to come from elsewhere...

Good luck.

I agree that it sounds like trash. It came from eBay and the seller has agreed to accept a return.
