T23 with T41 SXGA+ Panel

#1 Post by rhoadsfan » Thu Nov 14, 2013 10:03 pm

So I'm looking at a T23 for dirt cheap. I don't mind dropping $12.99 for 1GB of RAM (It's got 128MB in it right now lol), but to keep costs down in upgrading it, would it be possible to use this panel:

Same size (14.1"), but I know there's this thing called EDID which can cause problems. Anyone know if this could work?

I think that EDID was first implemented with the T6/X6 systems but don't quote me on that. I've swapped SXGA+ panels between T2x systems without any issues (be sure to use the proper SXGA+ LCD cable as well). I don't think you can do the same with T4x -> T2x. My recollection is that any 850Mhz T21 will also have the 1400x1050 panel, as well as 1Ghz T22. To be sure, plug the model type (2647-xxx) into the Quick Path box on the Lenovo Support page: http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/landing.page?qpq=
