Hola, soy nuevo aquí y me gustaría saber si mi ibm t23 tiene wifi, perdón por mi inglés pero es que soy español y no se mucho

Hi, I'm new here and would like to know if my ibm t23 has wifi, sorry for my English but I am Spanish and not much

Welcome to the Forum (where we only speak English).
Open the lid on the middle of the bottom, and check the largest of the 2 cards there.
If it has two antenna wires attached, it has wifi.
If not, you don't.
You can buy PCMCIA (a.k.a. Cardbus) wifi cards, check eBay with: pcmcia wifi.
Get a wifi b/g or b/g/n card, NOT just a b.

i have got a 2 wireless pcmcia cards from olders laptops and, The laptop has the wifi card but not detected

What is the 7-character TYPE on the label on the bottom? Looks like: TYPE 2647-4MU, we don't need the S/N.
If there is indeed a wifi card in there, it's probably faulty, they were notorious for it.
What is the P/N or FRU number on that internal wifi card?

The T23 needs 2 x 512MB PC133 SODIMM memory modules to be complete. Nothing else will work.
Available on eBay and elsewhere.

T23 (2647-2TG)
PIII-M 1.0GHz (512KB), 128MB RAM, 20.0GB HDD, 14.1 XGA(1024x768) TFT LCD, 8X-3.3X DVD-ROM, Modem(MPCI), Ethernet, TV out, Li-Ion battery, Win2000

That machine does NOT have wifi.
Have you installed the proper drivers for those PCMCIA cards?

No, yours is just a modem card, wifi cards are combo modem/wifi or just wifi cards and have two small round connectors at the top.

Yes and maybe. Yes, you could add a combo card into your T23 to get wireless capability but, maybe it will not work too well as you also need some antennas. The factory systems that came with WiFi already installed have two antenna wires going up into the lid. If you simply install the WiFi card (and the correct drivers) without providing at least one antenna, then your wireless range will be very poor.

In my opinion, you should not connect a known broken / defective MiniPCI card into Thinkpad system. I have seen many problems with having a bad card, ranging from not being able to install a Windows operating system, to the laptop not even powering up.

No. Windows 8 requires certain CPU instructions that the CPU in the T23 do not have. Windows 7 is the latest version of Windows that will work on the T23.
