T22 and T20 Temperature readings.

#1 Post by rccharles » Fri Dec 02, 2016 9:21 pm

I'm running linux on my T22 and hopefully my T20 when I get it repaired. I'll want to verify when I get the t20 repaired that it's not running hot. Do you know of temperature reading software for linux on the T22 or T20?

I could run Windows xp on both machines. Is there a temperature monitor for Windows on these machines.

I run the linux program sensors-detect. It said that on laptops the temperature detect is probably handled by the ACPI.

Also keep in mind that machines before p4 era don't start their can until well in 70-80 degrees.
Also T22 will certainly run hotter than T23 as that CPU has more TDP than my A31p's Pentium 4 1.8

That's really for Windows only.

I believe that there's a ThinkFan utility for Linux offerings, but have no idea how well it works.
