Would an LCD panel from an old T40 work on my ThinkPad T20?
Would an LCD panel from an old T40 work on my ThinkPad T20?
Is it possible to replace a worn LCD panel on my T20 with a working one from the T40? If that's possible, do I have to replace anything else besides the panel on my T20?
Anyways, thanks for reading,
Karl

All 14.1" T/A2x/3x use 20pin ccfl connector
all 14.1" T4x/6x use 30pin ccfl connector
You should be fine for getting a 14.1" display from T/A2x/3x which is better off for you to find on this forum or those Chinese sources such as Taobao, or pick one from theft store

Thinkpad4by3's Law of the Universe.
The efficiency of two screens equally sized with equal numbers if pixels are equal. The time spent by a 4:3 user complaining about 16:9 is proportional to the inefficiency working with a 16:9 display, therefore the amount of useful work extracted is equal.

Is it possible to use panel from R40 in T22? If yes, can XGA panel be used with SXGA+ cables and inverter?
Re: Would an LCD panel from an old T40 work on my ThinkPad T20?
No.
No. You need the cable that matches the screen resolution on old (pre-T60) ThinkPads, even if you were to source a proper T2x panel. If yes, can XGA panel be used with SXGA+ cables and inverter?

Just for your reference, If you try to swap panels between resolutions and generations, assume it doesnt work, cuz it likely wont. Even my new HD+ panel wont work in my HD T420.Mandrak wrote:Is it possible to use panel from R40 in T22? If yes, can XGA panel be used with SXGA+ cables and inverter?
