Hello,
I purchased one T21 non-working but good condition and one T23 working but bad condition thinkpads. I was wondering if i can fit T23 mobo and screen into T21 chasis? Are the parts interchangeble? I didnt receive them yet but i may face some other broken parts as well as they are really old.
Take a look at our

Re: T2x parts
No, you can't swap mobos.
The T20/T21/T22 has only 1 USB-port in the back, while the T23 has 2 USB-ports there.
Yes, you can swap screens, assuming both machines have a 14.1" screen.
Download/read the Manual from the HMM link above.

Re: T2x parts
There are much more differences between T22 bottom cover vs T23 bottom cover other than that USB port.
The T22 has a smaller window for the mPCI slot because it doesn't have the modem on a daughter card unlike on the T23
Also the cooler between them are totally different. The sockets and mounts for the heatsink are also totally different, and also the T22 cooler has much more cooling capacity because the coppermine Pentium IIIs run real hot!
afaik even the hinge covers are different
