IBM T21: is it really Titanium composite?

#1 Post by linux_inside v2 » Thu Jan 19, 2006 7:48 pm

Hey guys i have a T21 machine type 2647 and just wondering if it is really titanium composite, i've pulled the thing completely apart and it appears to be mainly plastic (ive even seen one with a cracked bottom half and it looked plastic)

anyway the reason is that whenever i touch the back of the screen i get that ripple effect and its starting to get spots where the backlight is brighter because of pressure being put on it unintentionally,
this has happened with 2 screens since the old one had a ribbon cable break.
So i got a new cable and screen with a motherboard, chassis and keyboard for $90 australian. and it happened on the old screen too.

Dont believe that titanium composite means it doesnt flex. It's impact resistant , nothing more.
