On-screen display stopped working

Well. One problem down, one to go:

Since I first got this laptop T30 (2366-88U) whenever I pressed the volume button, mute, keyboard lights, etc. the on-screen display worked no problem (a little green volume bar, green light display, etc.) worked no problem.

No all of a sudden, whenever I press the volume buttons (or monitor "switch" etc.) the green on-screen display no longer comes up.

Any ideas?

Sorry folks.. I've GOT TO STOP doing that

It was a simple problem of sending my laptop to our guys in our MIS department and they inadvertently uninstalled my hotkeys application.

Simple reinstall, simple solution.

Well, perhaps my blunders will help someone else along the way
