WiFi dumb question

#1 Post by larrylwill » Sat Jan 28, 2006 12:14 am

This is probley another dumb question. I recently bought a used T23 off Ebay. I was looking over the laptop manual and found the model numbers and what was installed on the various models. Mine is 2647-8MU I beleive the chart says I am supposed to have a Wirless card installed. I also found a mac address sticker on the bottem. I checed the controll panel and found a modem installed and intel pro 100ve adaptor. I beleive the pro 100 is just an ethernet adaptor. If it had a wifi adaptor, what would I look for?Con one have a modem and wifi built in?

thanks

It should appear under "Network Adapters" in the Device Manager. According both to the Tabook and Lenovo's site, the 2647-8MU should not have any WiFi installed.

In my 2647-8NU, I had wireless, wired and modem all built-in. The wireless card (IIRC) could only support WEP, but it could also be replaced. It was a nice machine. I sold it and it is still in service.
