sorry for the anxious post I just got so excited when I stumbled upon this site.

After a bit of reading I have answered most of my questions... However I still want to know what to do about my battery-- it won't keep a charge... Can I buy a new one? How long will that battery last, and how long will it keep my t22 charged?

Also... where is the model number located so that I can find out what came stock with my t22 and what has been upgraded already?

I believe it is 896 mhz
512 ram
20gb hd (is this stock hd really slow?)

You can get batteries off EBay.

Look for large sellers with good reputation. Be sure the battery is NEW, not LIKE new.

A battery that was made 5 years ago and kept in plastic is about half-dead. Lithium-ion batteris are like bread, they start growing mold when they leave the oven.

I like the Samsung 40-gig 5400 RPM 8-meg cache. Silent, inexpensive, and fast enough for me.

Some people like the new Hitachi.

A good site for comparing drives if silence matters is:

The model number is located on a sticker on the bottom of the machine, if the sticker is not there, use the Thinkpad Utility and pick on system info, summary to see the model number as well as the date of your bios.
