HELP!!!! My Thinkpad T22 hung up during BIOS flashing...
Hello.
Please please... help me...
I just bought a T22 in good condition in ebay and it just worked fine. Now I downloaded a new bios version from ibm directly and wanted to flash the bios. It worked... till... It hung up (electricity went out in our home). Then I startet again... but... as you might already think so... nothing worked anymore. Only two noises from the T22 and that was it.
What can I do now. Does anyone have some ideas...please???

As far as I know, if you crash during a BIOS flash, you're toast. The data in the EPROM chip that holds the BIOS is corrupted, so the computer can't run even at the lowest level.
On desktops that have removable EPROMS, you can often buy a new EPROM that has the bios already in it. However, in the case of th T22, the EPROM is soldered to the motherboard.
Realistically, your only option is to purchase a used motherboard on eBay and swap out your fried one. It looks like you can pick up a bare motherboard for as little as $25. Check the part numbers carefully.

Changing a T2x eeprom is very easy as far as surface-mount soldering goes. You should be able to do it safely with a basic soldering iron of decent quality (e.g. Weller, not Radioshack). The problem is the best deal I've found on programmed eeproms for the T2x is $45, which is about the same as a new system board on eBay.Nolonemo wrote:On desktops that have removable EPROMS, you can often buy a new EPROM that has the bios already in it.
