I understand that they have to be ordered. Does anybody know where to get one?

Thanks.

The part# is 02K6572. You can do a Froogle search, buy on eBay or from IBM directly.
If you are handy, you can go to your local electronics store, pick up a battery (CR2032) and attach the leads with some electrical tape.

Or if there's a BatteriesPlus shop near you, they'll fix you up.

If you go for the CR2032 method, make sure you use electric tape and wrap it REALLY REALLY REALLY tight. I was grumbly about my time not saving and blaming my slightly used battery when in fact I didn't wrap it tight enough. Oh, and I was told not to solder to them O_O

Electric Tape? Like electrician's tape?

Is that the black tape that is used for covering bare wire so that it doesn't come in contact with ground, or other wires, or people's bare skin?

Yeah, electric tape is the black tape. Plastic and a bit stickie. Often doesn't stick very well to anything but itself.
